Wooden wicks and cotton wick candle for scented candles

The main structure of the scented candle is wax body and wax core, and the wax core in the world mainly includes cotton thread wax core and wood wax core.
Wooden wicks are thin boards or wooden tubes crafted specifically for candle making. They produce beautiful crackling noises, but require more attention and maintenance. A cotton core is a woven thread of cotton, soaked in wax and compressed to maintain its shape. Cotton wicks can often reduce costs and make it easier to maintain candles.
Both wooden and cotton wicks are easy to ignite and catch fire the first time they are lit. However, in the second and subsequent burning, the wooden varieties will require more care and time. Cotton wicks are more like a hand-holding candle, trimming the wicks and they will be lit in 3 seconds, while wooden wicks can take up to 20 seconds to catch fire. In fact, it may take 2 or 3 attempts to rekindle wooden wick candles, as they take more time for the fire to penetrate the outer, more charred layer of wood.
Both types of wicks struggle with air currents or gusts of wind. Burning candles in ventilated corridors or outdoors can cause unstable flames to consume more candles, but also produce more soot and smoke in the process. Wooden wicks are not recommended for use in ventilated places or outdoors, as they are easier to extinguish under light wind pressure and are more difficult to re-ignite. Cotton wicks perform much better in outdoor environments, but still struggle and burn faster and more erratically.
wooden wicks
We found that wooden wick candles have a better fragrance when burned. This may be because the wick of the candle burns lower and burns more suffocated. This helps heat the wax around the wick, rather than burning it off quickly with a tall flame, which is more likely to happen on a cotton wick candle. With a cotton wick candle, a higher flame may quickly burn off all the valuable scents in the wax. After a very strong burn like this, or if you let the candle burn for more than 4 hours at a time, you may notice that the subsequent burn is actually less fragrant. This is a good reason to continue trimming the wick to 1/4" and burning in increments of 1-2 hours as directed on most candle warning labels. A wooden wick produces a horizontal flame that sprays more heat into the candle faster, so even if it burns slower and at a lower temperature, a wooden wick candle will heat up your scent and produce it in less time.
